As proponents of science, we are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint, replenishing natural resources and leading our industry in more ethical, responsible practices.

  • Since 2017, we’ve improved water efficiency by 10% across Hill’s-owned manufacturing sites

  • Our sites are not located in high water stress regions

  • Since 2011, we reduced CO2 emissions by 14%, equal to 80 sq. kilometers of forest removing CO2 from the atmosphere each year

  • We continuously meet or exceed manufacturing workplace safety requirements and strive for zero harm with no significant incidents

  • Our two newest plants are LEED-certified with a commitment to build 100% of new manufacturing sites to be LEED-certified as well

Purposeful packaging

As a committed member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, we aim to reduce the amount of plastic and other materials used in our supply chain, and we have committed to increasing our recycling efforts.

  • We have been using recyclable corrugated boxes made with 65% recycled content worldwide since the end of 2019

  • 70% of our global Hill’s packaging (by weight) is now recyclable since the end of 2019

  • We are actively working to reduce the amount of plastic we use

  • We partner with our global suppliers to continue packaging innovation in sustainable ways
